But even if your nails grow slowly and there’s not a lot of noticeable re-growth by third week, it’s time to reach for the acetone. The longer the gel is on, the harder it is to remove. Below are the steps for a professional Gel Polish Removal service:
Step 1: Thoroughly saturate an absorbent pad with acetone nail polish remover and place on your nails.
Step 2: Wrap your nails in aluminum foil snugly, a secure fit is essential for thorough removal, soak for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: Gently lift foil and check if polish has lifted away from the nail. If not, we re-wrap and soak another 5 minutes more.
Step 4: Gently massage the foil at top of nails and pull foil wrap away from nails. When gel has lifted from nails, we carefully remove any gel excess on nails with an orangewood stick (from cuticle to tip).
Step 5: Rub nails with a lint-free nail pad soaked in polish remover to remove any residue.
Step 6: Re-hydrate nails and cuticles with apricot cuticle oil.
